Weather Forecast – Sept 10, 2018

The Weather Forecast – Sept 10, 2018

Neon Weekend
It’s neon weekend at the gym!  We invite everyone to wear their brightest colours to practice this FridaySaturday, and Sunday.  Weeknight rec teams andThursday prep teams are welcome to participate on their practice night.

Flyer Training
We hope to run classes as follows: Mondays 6-8, Tuesdays 7-8, Wednesdays 7-8 Saturdays 1-2.  Athletes will need to choose a class vs dropping in to any of the 4 options.  We are offering these at a great price of only $10 per class if you register for the full 10 classes (Oct-Dec.)  Classes will be open for registration at 5pm tonight.

Safety First
Just a reminder that ALL athletes must remove ALL jewellery before they start practice.  We ask that finger nails also be kept at an appropriate “sport” length.  Long acrylic or gel nails can be very dangerous to the person who has them as well as teammates.  Athletes may not chew gum in the gym.

Parents’ Association AGM
The Storm Cheer & Dance Society will hold their AGM on Sept 24 from 6-8pm at Sleep Country located 18137 – 111 Ave .  All Storm parents are welcome and encouraged to come.

Daytime Playtime
Wednesdays and Thursdays 9:30-11:00am.  This is free time in the gym for pre-school and home school kids.  Cost is $5 for the first 2 children and $2 for each additional child from the same family.

Open Gym this week
Thursday 8-10pmFriday 4-6pmSunday 7-9pm
Open gym is free for athletes on a competitive team (prep or all-star) but we ask that you still sign in at the front before entering the gym.  Please remember that athletes under 7 require a parent to be present.  Open gym is a time to train and work on skills, not “playtime” in the gym.

Rec Cheer – still some openings
We have classes for kids 4-11 years old.  We also have a daytime rec cheer program for kids who are home schooled for ages 6-12.
FOG – for ages 18+.  Lots of fun and a great way to get in shape! Runs Sunday evenings from 7-8:30pm mid-Sept to early Dec.

Run for the Cure
We are so proud of our Storm family and their support of the Run for the Cure.  We have a team running (or walking) again this year and would love you to join us or support one of our team members.  Click here for our team page.  This is our 4th year participating and we are at almost $50,000 in contributions!  We would love your help to reach this incredible milestone as we do our part to make breast cancer beatable.
